A winter workshop that brought the team closer
From January 23 to 24, 2026, GOTROOT held its Winter Workshop at Jun179 in Yangpyeong. Different projects and research topics came together in one place so we could step away from our monitors and realign as a team.
More than a break, the workshop was a chance to reflect on how we collaborate, how we build trust, and what kind of culture helps us do our best work.
Sharing ideas, building context
Throughout the workshop, team members openly shared current challenges, technical ideas, and the direction they want to push further this year. That kind of context-sharing matters to us because great security work is rarely the result of isolated effort.
At GOTROOT, we believe strong teams are built not only on deep technical skill, but also on mutual understanding and honest communication.
A team that works hard and enjoys the moment
The recreation sessions quickly changed the mood of the room. It was competitive, funny, and unmistakably GOTROOT. Even the warm-up games felt like something only our team would design, and the energy reminded us that team chemistry is built through laughter as much as it is through serious work.
The excitement carried all the way into the award moments, which became one of the highlights of the workshop.
A night we will remember
After sunset, the atmosphere shifted again. Snow started to fall, and the workshop became even more memorable. Stepping outside together, taking photos, and continuing conversations in the cold air turned into one of the most memorable parts of the trip.
Culture is part of the work
Dinner gave us more time to talk beyond project status updates. We shared stories, preferences, and the kind of everyday conversations that are easy to miss during busy weeks. Those moments matter because they strengthen the trust behind our work.
Why GOTROOT goes on workshops
We aim to be a team that thinks deeply from the attacker’s perspective, follows through, and delivers real outcomes. To sustain that level of work, we also need healthy energy, trust, and strong team culture.
The 2026 Winter Workshop was a clear reflection of who we are: serious about the craft, sincere about growth, and equally committed to building a team that enjoys the journey together.
